Pizza, Possibilities

and the Power of Engineering!

-Lunch with an Engineer-

Lunch with an Engineer, hosted by STEP, provides high school students the chance to explore the world of engineering while enjoying lunch with professionals in the field. Through open discussions and meaningful interactions, this event sparks curiosity and helps students in the Twin-Counties learn more about the engineering industry and potential career paths. This event is part of STEP’s ongoing mission to connect students with local employers and promote career exploration throughout the Twin-Counties.

"It has been an honor to casually converse with engaged students who have taken advantage of this opportunity for learning, reassurance, and inspiration in regards to their career paths and continued education whether for engineering or the workforce in general. Thank you to STEP and school administrators for arranging this unique opportunity."

-Ramon Muckle, Engineer with City of Rocky Mount-

GOTL Supports

STEP’s Vision!

We’re excited to announce that STEP has been awarded $25,000 through Edgecombe County’s *Get Off the List (GOTL)* initiative!

Thank you to Edgecombe County Government, Mr. Eric Evans, and the Commissioners for their dedication to empowering our community. This will allow STEP to expand our work in education and workforce development, and we look forward to working alongside other GOTL recipients and community members to build a healthier, more vibrant, and equitable future.

Looking Ahead!

Invention Convention is a manufacturing competition featuring Maker Space technology to identify a problem and produce an original product that will help the community. The teams also develop and make marketing/business plans to entice investors. Consulting engineers from local companies engage with the teams prior to competition sharing manufacturing concepts and project management skills.
