STEPtember Challenge

September 5th-30th

  • Description of Challenge: Step into September with the fitness center step challenge! Following registration, we will share a tracking log in which you must input your steps by Sunday at midnight of each week. Steps can be tracked by a pedometer, fitness watch or phone app. To make the challenge more competitive, we will have a group spreadsheet so you can go neck and neck with your colleagues. Each person will be assigned an identifying number to protect confidentiality. Win prizes at 100,000, 200,000 & 250,000 steps. Get your name entered into a raffle for a larger prize at the end if you can beat Hannah's step count.

  • Wednesday's in September: 7,14,21 & 28
  • 1:00-1:30 pm, meets in Shoreview Fitness Center, then we will run outside. Must RSVP ahead of time at [email protected].
  • Runs will vary from 1 to 3 miles with cool down & recovery.

Cholesterol Education Month

Cholesterol is a waxy substance your body produces to build cells, make vitamin D and hormones. Our liver produces the cholesterol we need but we can also get it in the food we eat. There are two types of cholesterol; LDL- the bad kind and HDL-the good kind. When your LDL is to high and HDL is low it can lead to cardiovascular disease. The three C's is good standard for cholesterol control.

  • Change, diet and lifestyle
  • Control, with the help of your doctor

Cummins Group Exercise Schedule

  • The fitness center staff are now offering stretch breaks at Fridley!
  • Join Hannah in person Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:10 pm-12:20 pm.
  • Join Josh Monday and Fridays from 12:10 pm-12:20 pm.


*Fridley: We will meet in the tunnel that connects the Engineering building to the Office Building.

Shoreview stretch breaks will continue on the normal schedule:

  • Monday/Friday: 10:00 am
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 2:00 pm
