Seattle Theatre Group
announces

Its Annual DOORS Fundraising Event is Now Virtual
All donations through May 2 to be matched 1:1!

(Seattle, WA) - Seattle Theatre Group announces its annual fundraiser, DOORS: Opening Doors to the Arts , will now be a virtual event focused on a challenge match and online auction. What is typically a live event will now take place online, giving the public the opportunity to donate directly through STG's website or via an online auction that will take place April 24-May 2, 2020. Thanks to STG's Board of Directors and The Bradley Family Foundation, every donation made through May 2 will be matched 1:1, up to $380,000 total.

"We are grateful for the generous contributions provided by our Board of Directors and The Bradley Foundation by offering this challenge match," says Josh LaBelle, Executive Director of STG. "It is important now more than ever that we support one another during this difficult time. We hope that asking our patrons for their help will ensure that STG and these historic theatres, will continue to provide vital arts experiences for this community into the future."

STG appreciates the leadership of Governor Inslee, County Executive Dow Constantine, and Mayor Jenny Durkan and continues to work closely with them to ensure the health and well-being of the community before anything else. In response to the CDC's recommendation to suspend large social gatherings, STG has had to postpone or cancel 153 performances--as of March 30th--and continues to place its programs and performances on hold as the situation progresses. Though many performances have been rescheduled, STG is anticipating a multimillion-dollar shortfall from this necessary time of closure.

STG plays a vital part in Seattle's cultural landscape and economy and is committed to continuing this important role by keeping staff members employed, creating online education and outreach activities, and maintaining its facilities. This cannot be done without the generous support of patrons and community members whose donations would help ensure the future of Seattle's arts and music scene, while allowing STG to continue to effectively steward its three historic venues--The Paramount, Moore, and Neptune Theatres.
