Rosa Parks' legacy continues in Wisconsin's transit equity movement

At the ACLU of Wisconsin, we are thankful for people like Rosa Parks, who have the courage to speak up, and act up, when their rights are being violated.

December 1st is the anniversary of the day in 1955 when Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on the bus to a white ma n.

But we are STILL fighting for our seat on the bus: in August, the ACLU of Wisconsin filed suit to force the state of Wisconsin to reconsider spending $1.7 billion on freeway reconstruction while slashing budgets for buses and mass transit that people need.

You can help us work to ensure that all of our tax dollars support transportation spending on those who need it most.
