Daily Reflection:
Tuesday of Holy Week: April 7
We surrender to our present reality…we embrace it…we have faith in God…we trust in God…we keep walking forward helping each other as people of faith…we are not afraid…wherever we are going, God is already there!
God is in our midst!
I am sharing with you today one of my favorite pieces of music:
Henryk Gorecki
Symphony No. 3
‘Symphony of Sorrowful Songs’
Dawn Upshaw, Soprano
David Zinman, Conductor
London Sinfonietta
53.50 minutes
When you go to YouTube, look for the version with this information.
During this Holy Week, take an hour, find a comfortable chair, close your eyes, and let this music wash over you.
You will find it melancholy and sad, but also very “appropriate” for Holy Week.
In its sorrowful settings, it is also very hopeful and uplifting…for me, it sings of Resurrection in the midst of sadness.
Allow the music to touch your soul with sorrow but also with the hope that Resurrection gives…just right for Holy week!
