Daily Reflection: Sunday, March 22
Today is the Fourth Sunday of Lent…take time to watch our Parish Mass on our Parish website,
www.stmoside.org
. You can download the Worship Aid and sing your heart out as we reflect upon the “Man Born Blind.” The video of the Mass will be available at 6:00am on Sunday and you may click the link anytime after that at your convenience.
We continue to keep moving forward, day by day, going into our future with trust in God, surrendering to our present reality, knowing that God will see us through.
We will turn this crisis into new opportunities to grow closer to God, to our families and friends, and to be more connected and “alive” to the Global Village in which we live.
I share with you my favorite prayer from Thomas Merton:
My Lord
God, I Have No Idea Where I Am Going.
I have had it on my refrigerator for years and every time I walk past the fridge or open the fridge, I say pieces of the prayer, oftentimes just a line at a time.
The prayer is most appropriate for the times in which we find ourselves:
My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end.
Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you and I hope that I have that desire in all that I am doing.
And I know that if I do this, you will lead me by the right road although I may know nothing about it.
Therefore I will trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death, I will not fear, for you are ever with me and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.”
Each day is a new challenge! Are you ready to accept it?
