Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
Although it seems that our world has come to a standstill, life around us does continue and we all move forward as the future on-folds.
This is true in Parish Life as well…
Last week, I announced the retirements of Sr. Maureen Brown, CSJ, our Pastoral Associate, and Henny Jocelyn, our Parish Secretary.
This week, I have one more announcement to make.
On May 2, Deacon Tom Goeltz reached the “magical age” of 75, and he is now officially in retirement.
Deacon Tom was ordained a Permanent Deacon for St. Thomas More Parish on June 2, 2000. He has been in ministry to our Parish for 20 years!
Over the years, he and his wife, Patt, have ministered in a variety of ways in service to our Parish.
We are all very grateful for their commitment to our Faith Family over these many years.
Like Sr. Maureen and Henny, though his “status” changes, he and Patt will continue to be with us and will continue to serve the Parish as they have done in the past.
Deacon Tom is now officially our “Senior Deacon.”
In the future, when we return to “normal,” there will be a Parish celebration in which we will recognize and celebrate Sr. Maureen, Henny, and Deacon Tom and Patt for their many years of dedicated service to our Parish.
Deacon Tom and Patt, thank you!
