STOCYM CONFIRMATION ELIGIBILITY
Our STOCYM Confirmation program is an awesome, two year program that will walk with students as they come together in large and small group community to learn more about our Catholic faith, how the Holy Spirit is moving through them, and give them the tools they will need to continue to grow in faith for the rest of their lives.
I want to make sure that we are all on the same page, and clarify some changes we are making to the program this year, so that your student can have the best experience possible.
In the past, students entering the ninth grade at a Catholic school were eligible to opt out of the first year of our preparation program.
However, this year we are changing that and asking all ninth graders (Catholic and Public school) to enroll in the first year of the program, participating fully in the two years of the program.
The diocese really wants all parishes to have the same standards when it comes to Confirmation, and we are doing our best to align ourselves with those standards in order to best serve the future of our faith. Not only this, but we believe that this change will enhance and make the community the kids experience in our preparation that much stronger.
I know that this is a pretty big change, but I can guarantee that your students will not only receive incredible supplemental knowledge about the faith that will help them in their school work, as well as essential catechesis not offered in those school classes, but they will also have a wonderful experience and chance to meet and grow within our larger community in an engaging and fun way.
