STOP ASIAN HATE - UNITE AGAINST RACISM
In the past year, Asian hate crimes have grown simultaneously with the rise of COVID-19 cases and have recently been getting more press under the hashtag “Stop Asian Hate." This is a heavy bummer!
As Alhambra is made up of a large Asian population, this has heightened fear, as well as the need for preparedness. The Alhambra Police Department and the City of Alhambra are working together with the community in providing awareness to stop this trend, and providing protection by responding and tracking such incidents. The best tool to fight hate is education. Download an informational brochure and spread the word>>
In related news, a ‘Stop Asian Hate’ candlelight vigil in Alhambra honored victims of Atlanta-area spa shootings, and urged an end to anti-Asian violence. Watch the coverage on KTLA News here>>

Out of an abundance of caution, Los Angeles County is following the recommendation of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to pause the use of Johnson & Johnson vaccine after reports that six women between the ages of 18 and 48 developed unusual types of blood clots 6 to 13 days after receiving the vaccine. This pause will last until the FDA and CDC complete their review, which is expected to take several days.
Vaccine providers in Los Angeles County will contact patients about rescheduling or providing a new appointment for Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. Read more>>
