The St. Tammany Quality Network (STQN) presented its 2021 second-quarter Medical Director’s Award to Dr. Angela Buonagura for assisting in the continued development of the comprehensive breast cancer program at St. Tammany Health System (STHS).

It’s time for fun, sun – and those screenings you’ve been putting off
With COVID seemingly on the wane, it’s time for vaccinated people to get back to the beach. It’s time for them to get back to summertime gatherings with their family. It’s time to get back to enjoying the company of one another.

STHS Chest Pain Center lauded nationally
St. Tammany Health System has been awarded the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Silver Performance Achievement Award for 2021. It is one of only 132 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor.

Concerning trend toward younger, unvaccinated COVID patients
While COVID-19 hospitalizations remain at manageable levels on the Northshore, St. Tammany Health System leaders have noticed a troubling new trend among the COVID-19 inpatient population at their Covington hospital: a marked increase in the hospitalization of otherwise healthy people between the ages of 30 and 45 who have not been vaccinated.
