Mardi Gras likely to bring COVID surge, data suggests
With each surge comes an increased strain on hospital services. And, although numbers are once more headed in the right direction – as of Tuesday (Feb. 9), St. Tammany Health System’s COVID inpatient count was at 33 – hospital leaders are bracing for the possibility of another spike in infections in the weeks after Mardi Gras.


Teachers, others now eligible for COVID vaccine
Effective Monday (Feb. 22), and in keeping with Louisiana Department of Health recommendations, among those now eligible are all K-12 teachers, pregnant women, dialysis patients, and people between the ages of 55 and 64 with at least one of the conditions listed by the CDC as placing them at “increased risk” from COVID-19.

Pop-up COVID vaccine clinics coming to Mandeville, Madisonville
With the flow of COVID-19 vaccine ramping up, St. Tammany Health System has scheduled one-day pop-up vaccine clinics for its primary care clinics in Madisonville and Mandeville.

STHS COVID-19 response earns national recognition
St. Tammany Health System has been named a winner of the 2020 Strata Decision LEAP Award, a national recognition of healthcare organizations for outstanding performance in the areas of finance and strategy to benefit both their organization and the communities they serve.
