Peer-to-Peer Calls
Why reinvent the wheel when you can learn from others?
Need to Know
Mark your calendars for the next peer-to-peer teleconference call.
  • Conflict of Interest: June 4 at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time / 5:30 p.m. Pacific time
Teleconferences will each take approximately one hour. Email invitations are sent to those in each role in advance with dial-in information. Contact the  LMSC Development Committee for more information.
The goal of these calls is to provide an opportunity for you to pose questions, get answers, discuss challenges, and share successes as you fulfill your role. In turn, we can use the information shared to help build a repository of best practices for each of our volunteer positions.
Notes and recordings from peer-to-peer calls are now more easily accessible in the Meeting Minutes section of usms.org. Look under the Volunteers section in the large footer of usms.org and select the Meeting Minutes page. Then, select Peer-to-Peer Teleconference Notes or Peer-to-Peer Teleconference Recording from the By Committee or Group drop-down menu. Happy reading and listening!
April is Adult Learn-to-Swim Month
Thank you for participating!
More than 1,200 people took lessons through USMS's April is Adult Learn-to-Swim Month programs nationwide last month, and we couldn't be prouder. Thank you to the nearly 500 instructors - mostly volunteers -- who helped to make so many adults in their communities safer and happier around the water. We counted more than 50 April programs, but if you think we might have missed yours, please be in touch.
And remember, it's grant season. If a USMS Swimming Saves Lives Foundation grant could help you take your April program to the next level, apply for 2020 program funds, by July 31. Don't need money? If you want goggles, caps, T-shirts, and other ALTS Month swag, you need to be an SSLF grant program. Just say "gear only" on your application.
