Ingrid Preda
STS Marketing Intern
|
Join us in welcoming, Ingrid Preda to the STS family. An Atlanta native, Ingrid is a Senior Communications & Rhetoric Major at Oglethorpe University, with a minor in film. Her favorite lunch spot for the work week is Athens Greek Restaurant. Did someone say tzatziki?
When it comes to vacation, you're likely to find her in Charleston, South Carolina or Asheville, North Carolina. Ingrid once dreamed of being a Marine Biologist. Now she can plan her vacations around the water, including a trip to Iceland and Scotland she has planned for May.
Most recently, Ingrid interned with a public relations firm in Roswell, Georgia. In her current role at STS, she enjoys the variety of projects she's given - especially when it comes to planning content for social media.

Negotiations over the federal government’s funding bill for Fiscal Year 2020 came down to the final days of December, but patience and persistence paid off when the
$1.4 trillion appropriations package included approvals for key tourism priorities
.
Acted on by the House of Representatives on December 17, approved by the Senate on December 19, and signed into law by the President on December 20, once it was clear that the measure would be the last legislative vehicle in 2019, there was a scramble to get measures incorporated into a funding package. A number of top priorities for tourism and Southeastern communities were adopted into the legislation.
Tourism achieved some big wins at the end of the year yet there is still a lot of work to be done to empower local communities to fully leverage their cultural, heritage, and natural resources. Check out the
VoterVoice
section of the STS website today to review the policies priorities we are currently working on and to speak out to your elected officials on the issues that matter to your community.
