FRESHMAN THEOLOGY CLASS LEARNS IRISH HYMNS IN HONOR OF ST. PATRICK'S DAY

In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, Mr. Valentino's Freshman Theology class learned two hymns in Irish Gaelic. The first, St. Patrick’s Breastplate, is a powerful prayer traditionally attributed to St. Patrick himself. The second, Mother Mary, is a beloved Marian hymn set to a traditional Irish folk melody. This meaningful experience allowed students to connect with Irish heritage and deepen their appreciation for this sacred music.

2025 Youth Ambassador Leadership Conference

Congratulations to Jackson Williamson, Kennedy McCoy, Morgan Rafter, Finley Quinn, and Daisey Durham who represented us at the 2025 Youth Ambassador Leadership Conference at the Gatton College of Business and Economics last week.

Mr. Jacobelli’s Environmental Science class put their learning into action by setting up protective row hoops for their garden in the courtyard and building bases for water jugs to catch rainfall from the school roof. Their work helps shield plants from the elements and promotes sustainability by collecting rainwater for future use.

ATHLETIC NEWS

Congratulations to Payton Avilez on committing to play volleyball at Transylvania University!

We are excited to share an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact on our Lady Knights! Our Girls' Locker Room Renovation Fundraiser is in full swing, and we’re on a mission to raise an additional $5,000 by March 21 to unlock a matching fund that will double our impact. To date, we’ve raised over $22,000, and to finish the renovations in this phase, we need to raise an additional $15,000 to finish Phase 1.

With your generosity, we can provide a clean, safe, and inspiring space for our female student-athletes—one that reflects the values of dignity, respect, and excellence that we strive for at Lexington Catholic.

Since August 2024, the Lady Knights have been on a quest to renovate the girl’s locker room that serves the soccer, softball and lacrosse team, as well as weightlifting students. With the help of parents and fans of the programs, we’ve gutted and removed the old, non-functional lockers, cleared paint from the floors, repainted the walls, and installed new toilets. New bathroom partitions, flooring, bathroom countertops, sinks and plumbing were installed in January. We also updated three doors with auto locks, which was an essential safety update. We are so proud of this progress and thankful for the financial contributions, in-kind donation and hours of volunteer time generously donated.
