Letter from the Principal

Dear Families,

It is with joy and emotion that I share our new mural in the Learning Commons, painted over the holiday break by art teacher Caroline Jardine and student Mia. The mural honors our former principal, Nichole Flores, and will remain a tribute to her leadership and enduring legacy at SUA. Sara Westrick, Director of the TLC, and Amny Karban, TLC Tutor, envisioned the mural and collaborated with Caroline Jardine on the final design. The hydrangeas and shades of periwinkle blue and purple were a favorite of Nichole's, and the quote of St. Angela reflects Nichole's faith and belief in our Arrows. The mural adds a warm, embracing touch to our Learning Commons and is a visual reminder of Nichole's love for SUA.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Liz

High School Registration

During the week of December 2, students in grades 9-11 attended a registration meeting with information and guidelines for submitting their course requests for the next school year. If your daughter could not attend or you would like more information, we are offering the same presentation on the evening of January 15 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Field House.

Students will meet individually with their counselors over the next couple of months to confirm their proposed course requests. Registration forms must be signed by the parent and returned by January 24.

Class of 2027 Career Exploration Project

This is a reminder that the Career Exploration Project (CEP) is due on or before Friday, April 25.

The job shadow should not be done during a school day, so please plan accordingly.

The CEP assignment involves self-reflective thought in response to students' assessments through Naviance and making arrangements for a job shadowing experience. The best career choices are achieved through self-exploration and values-clarification.

The attached CEP Assignment was also handed out at the College and Career Exploration Day on November 13.

NHS Greater Community Service Initiative

SUA's National Honor Society officers proudly delivered 20 cases of coffee to the Ann Arbor VA Hospital as part of their Greater Community Service initiative. NHS wants to thank everyone who supported them by participating in the Society's 50/50 raffle at home sporting events. Your generosity made this possible!
