Letter from the Principal |
Dear SUA Families,
We are excited to celebrate Grandparents' Day this Friday, September 13! We have had an outstanding response! Please check with your daughter's grandparent(s) to see if they RSVP'd so that your daughter knows to come that morning.
If your daughter has grandparents/guests attending, please have her greet them in the Field House, where Mass will be held. We would suggest dropping off your daughter around 7:15 a.m.; Mass will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. Please be patient with the parking lot attendants as they assist grandparents with parking. Students should wear their uniform for Mass and may wear any sweater if they choose. Anyone who has sold 15 Arrow Cards may change into dress down attire after Mass.
Students who do not have a grandparent attending Grandparents' Day are not required to report to school until classes start at 10:30 a.m.
For all students:
Because of our delayed opening, the Dining Commons will offer limited grab-and-go items on Friday, September 13.
We look forward to celebrating with your daughters and their grandparents!
Soli Deo Gloria!

Parent/Teacher Conferences
We are looking forward to Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday, September 19. You may sign up for conferences using PTCFast.com (linked below).
Conferences will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Remember that each conference is only five minutes. If you require more time, please schedule another time with your daughter’s teacher. Members of our Counseling Department will be available to schedule conferences with as well. Please do not schedule a conference with your daughter's Seminar teacher or her Sorelle moderator.
You will receive an email from PTCFast with your conference schedule.

Arrow Card Drive Update
We’re excited to announce that the students have reached the Arrow Card Drive school goal, which means everyone will enjoy a well-deserved day off on Friday, February 14!
But we’re not stopping there—students are now working toward the Super and Mega Goals. If we hit the Super Goal, students will have Tuesday, February 18, off school. If we hit the Mega Goal, students will have Friday, September 27, off school. To boost the fun, we’re holding a class competition this week. The class that brings in the highest percentage of sales between Monday and Thursday will win Crumbl Cookies at lunch on Friday!
If your student has unsold cards they don’t think they can sell, please have them turn them in during lunch for others to sell. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Audition Preview
SUA students in grades 8-12 and male performers from any area high school (within a reasonable driving distance) are invited to our Legally Blonde Audition Preview on September 15 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. to learn the audition music and choreography in preparation for our Legally Blonde auditions on September 26-28, 2024. Get to know the creative team, meet friends, and ask questions!
Students do not need to attend this preview to audition, but it is very helpful! The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. Wear clothes you can move in, and print your own audition music. All audition music and rehearsal information can be found on the Google Drive link (which is also linked on the SUA website under the Current Families tab).
Auditions will be held September 26-28, but students only need to attend one day. Students of all experience levels are encouraged to audition—we need high-energy singers, dancers, musicians, gymnasts, and people who can jump rope!
All questions should be directed to Mrs. Hinshaw at khinshaw@toledosua.org.

Freshman Class Retreat
The Freshman Class Retreat will be held on Friday, September 20, from 9:15 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Ward Pavilion at Wildwood Metropark, 4830 Central Avenue Toledo, OH 43615.
Your daughter has begun her high school journey, and this retreat will serve as the perfect opportunity for her and her classmates to grow closer together as a class. During the retreat, the students will be building friendships with one another and God through many fun activities and faith-formation experiences. Through these experiences, we hope that the students develop a sense of what it means to be a member of the SUA community—loving one another and seeking to grow in relationship with God—as the adventure of high school truly begins.
Lunch for the day will be provided. Dress for the day is casual (standard dress down)—but be sure that your daughter dresses comfortably, as we will participate in various activities throughout the day. If you have any questions, please contact Campus Minister Mrs. Pelz at lpelz@toledosua.org.
