Dear Families,
We have some exciting news to celebrate at SUA! Our National Honor Society has been named a Chapter of Distinction, a national recognition honoring NHS chapters that demonstrate strong leadership, service, and commitment to the pillars of National Honor Society.
| |
We are incredibly proud of our NHS students and advisor for earning this recognition. While our girls certainly excel academically, this award celebrates so much more. It recognizes their commitment to leadership, character, and using their talents to serve others. All qualities that are at the heart of who we strive to be at SUA.
We are grateful to our NHS advisor, Mr. Maas, for his leadership and dedication to our students, and we are so proud of our girls for the way they continue to represent SUA both inside our building and throughout our community.

From the Counseling Department...
To wrap up our education surrounding Suicide Prevention Awareness this month, the Counselors wanted to share information regarding protective factors, which are characteristics that help buffer or reduce the effects of stress, risk or trauma.
Protective factors can include: good problem solving skills; regular school attendance, involvement in groups, clubs, sports; parental/familial support; spirituality; having a trusted adult; high self-esteem; community bonding; and a good social support system are just a few.
We also want to share that we hosted a Study Skills Pop Up Workshop during Seminar today for students to receive help preparing for upcoming exams. Students had the opportunity to get help in areas such as note-taking, organization, test anxiety and more.
Next week on Tuesday, October 6 during Seminar, we are hosting a Tips & Tricks to De-Stress activity during all Seminars. Students are encouraged to visit our table to do a craft, play games, and learn other ways to de-stress. If your child has specific needs or concerns regarding these topics, please have them reach out to their school counselor.

To help streamline your visit, you have two options for checking in:
-
Mobile App (Fastest): Download the app (Visitu Mobile) and complete the initial registration to receive a quick-entry digital badge.
-
In-Person ID Scan: Bring a valid photo ID to scan at the main entrance doors upon arrival.
Please Note: All visitors must also scan their badge upon exiting the building so our staff knows you have left campus.

Label Items for Easy Return
