FEBRUARY MUSTER

Monday, Feb. 5, 2024

7:30pm

Wayside Inn Ballroom

Lauren Prescott, Wayside Inn Archivist

and online curator

We’ll hear about the archives of the Wayside Inn and some of the exciting projects Lauren and her team are working on. We’ll learn about the transformation of the archives from 1927 to today, as well as the types of materials they preserve at the Inn, from “Howe” objects to historic photographs.

Field trip alert! We may get a chance to visit the Gatehouse and tour the archives.

Any fan of the Wayside Inn will surely want to attend to hear Lauren’s presentation.

Annual Company Business Meeting

We'll hear from our officers on the state of the Companies.

Company Adjutant

We have a volunteer to fill the role of Adjutant.

We’ll undertake a formal installation vote.

Other Company items

Route Committee

The Route Committee is rolling along but any assistance is welcome.

Bill Sample has graciously agreed to ensure we are well fed along the march. However, he is looking for help. Are you able to help?

Contact the Lt. Colonel, ltcolonel@sudburyminutemen.org if you’d like to help with the route.

Faire Committee

As you know the Faire is our single largest source of funds. It is these funds that we need to keep the Companies going; everything from paying our insurance to keeping our website and email systems up and running; from being able to have such wonderful speakers at our musters to ensuring we stay safe on our march to Old North Bridge. In short without the Faire, we wouldn’t be able to do what makes the Sudbury Companies; the Sudbury Companies.

The Faire takes a lot of work to plan and put on and requires many volunteers to make it happen. For years the Faire has been organized and staffed by a noble few, but WE NEED MORE HELP. We need you to make the Faire a success.

Step up and volunteer.

Contact the Faire Chair, faire@sudburyminutemen.org to help.

19th of April Drill Dates

As you know, in order to fire our salute to the courageous Revolutionary patriots, you need to be safe and competent with a musket and master our maneuvers for the Bridge. (This is a National Park requirement.)

Drill dates have been scheduled. Please take a look below.

Attendance at 2 drills is required to fire from the Bridge (exceptions apply to past Colonels and members of other units. Contact the Lt. Colonel if you have questions about if you qualify)

Presentation of the Route of the April 19 March

Past Muster

Thank you to Tony Howes and John Bendel for the most delicious muster ever.

Tony provided us with an informative presentation on 18th C. food and cooking. And while Tony was educating us, John was busy cooking over an open fire.

Roast beast, bread, vegetables, oh my.

Cheese like you dream about.

And so much more yum than you could be expected to handle.

We got to sample it all. Out of this world good.
