Conference Wrap Up Thank you to everyone who came to the 2023 SUFU Conference. It was a fantastic time of celebrating 30 years of SUFU and our 2023 award winners! We enjoyed a variety of workshops, connecting with friends and meeting lots of new people. We hope you enjoy this newsletter as we look back on the 2023 Conference! 

Conference Wrap Up First we thanked our outgoing board members for the dedicated service.

Next we honored those that were voted as Marcia Rosen Award winners for their chapter.

We Spotlighted people who made a difference!

We introduced our most recent leadership graduates!

We introduced our newest Board Members!

We celebrated the two Self-Advocates who received the Director's Choice Award.

SUFU Staff was excited to announce this years Paige Barton Award Winner.

We had a lot of fun!

Jon's Corner I have something cool from the SUFU Conference 2023. I was able to help run the voting ballots for the Board to see who would get elected to the Board of Directors. We had had this during the vendor fair.   The great thing is that you get to see people you know and meet some new people.  I got to see the cool vibes from Janet May’s workshop.  I learn something new every time I’m part of one of Janet’s workshops.   The awards ceremony went off like a hitch.  We even got to surprise Monique! On Wednesday we had a wide variety of workshops that people were able to go to.  Some of the topics we will look at again at our statewide meetings.

Statewide Meetings Are Back Our Statewide Meetings will restart on October 10th at 1:00 pm on Zoom. https://us04web.zoom.us/j/911978966 October 10th and October 24th will be a continuing conversation with Jared Escobar surrounding transportation. This conversation is meant to be informative and problem solving.
