The Packard Children's Hospital expansion site prep (known as the 'Make-Ready' site) includes the demolition of 701 & 703 Welch and the construction of a shoring wall and utility tunnel in preparation for the Packard Children's expansion.
This week's activities:
Weekend work (10/7-10/9): 7 am- 8 pm
Tree relocation work will continue on the Make Ready site. This work may cause some noise and vibration. The transport of trees from the Make Ready site to the Hoover tree storage yard will occur after 7 pm.
Preparatory utility-related work will continue on Quarry Rd in the evenings. Traffic control measures will be in place. Please be cautious of trench plates in road. Access to the Emergency Room will be maintained at all times. Abatement of 701 Welch will continue on Saturday 10/8.
Weekday work (10/10-10/14): 7 am-8 pm
Demolition of 703 Welch will begin on 10/10 and is expected to take about one week to complete. Construction of a new sidewalk on the east side of the Falk building is complete.
On 10/10 foundation work will begin for the temporary egress ramp behind Falk. This work includes saw cutting the 'E' walk, concrete demolition and laying down new concrete. This effort will take approximately two weeks to complete. Installation of the steel ramp will occur at the end of the month. During this time, access to the patio area and stair will be closed.
Work will continue to relocate the chilled water line adjacent to 703 Welch and Packard Children's Hospital. This work includes some excavation work to install new water lines and may include noise-producing activities.
Night Work (10/10-10/14): approved working hours until 8 pm
Electrical work will continue on Quarry Rd. This work includes digging a trench across Quarry Rd during night shifts only. Preparatory utility-related work will continue on Quarry Rd. Traffic control measures will be in place. Please be cautious of trench plates in the road. Access to the Emergency Room will be maintained at all times. Some tree relocation work is scheduled to occur on the Make Ready site next week in the evening hours. This work may cause some noise and vibration.
What to expect next weekend (10/14-10/16)
Demolition work will continue at 703 Welch on 10/15.
