The Packard Children's Hospital expansion, which will expand Packard's ability to care for children and expectant mothers, is underway. The new facility is scheduled to open in 2016.
This week's activities:
What to expect this weekend (3/30-3/31)
Hours of Construction Activity: 7 am - 3:30 pm
Site excavation, auger piling and truck off haul will occur on the expansion site over the weekend.
Weekday work (4/1-4/5)
Hours of Construction Activity: 7 am - 5 pm
Piles will continue to be installed near Packard Children's Hospital next week. This drilling work is being closely coordinated with the hospital and is not anticipated to cause noise or vibration.
Excavation work and off hauling of soil will also occur.
Some Welch Rd truck traffic will occur next week in order to remove spoils from a land locked area near the Welch Rd gate.
Work will continue in the parking lot of 730 Welch Road to construct a temporary MRI facility.
Access to the rear entrance of Packard Children's will remain open throughout construction although some egress detours will be in place.
What to expect next weekend (4/6-4/7)
Hours of Construction Activity: 7 am - 3:30 pm
Work is expected to occur on the Packard Expansion site next weekend.
