The Packard Children's Hospital expansion site prep (known as the 'Make-Ready' site) includes the demolition of 701 & 703 Welch and the construction of a shoring wall and utility tunnel in preparation for the Packard Children's expansion.
This week's activities:
Weekend work (9/16-9/18): day shift: 7 am- 4 pm; night work: 8 pm-5 am
Preparatory utility-related work will continue on Quarry Rd in the evenings. Traffic control measures will be in place. Please be cautious of trench plates in road. Access to the Emergency Room will be maintained at all times.
Weekday work (9/19-9/23): 7 am-4 pm
Abatement preparation at 703 Welch, including the covering of windows and the arcade, will continue. Construction of a new sidewalk on the east side of the Falk building continues with asphalt now expected mid-week. No equipment causing vibration will be used. Once completed, Falk Lot bicycle racks and lockers will be relocated on the property. The racks and lockers will be posted prior to moving. Work continues on sidewalk installation along the north and east side of Packard Hospital, near the Bass Center. Concrete pour scheduled for 9/20. Tree removal and relocation to occur.
Night work (9/19-9/23): 8 pm-5 am

What to expect next weekend (9/23-9/25)
Pending permits, abatement will occur at 703 Welch in addition to abatement prep work at 701 Welch.
Some tree relocation work is scheduled to occur on the site; preparatory utility-related work will occur on Quarry Rd in the evenings. Traffic control measures will be in place. Please be cautious of steel plates in road. Access to the Emergency Room will be maintained at all times.
