The Packard Children's Hospital expansion site prep (known as the 'Make-Ready' site) includes the demolition of 701 & 703 Welch and the construction of a shoring wall and utility tunnel in preparation for the Packard Children's expansion.
This week's activities:
Weekend work (9/30-10/2): day shift: 7 am- 4 pm; night work: 7 pm-5 am
Some tree relocation work is scheduled to occur on the Make Ready site. This work may cause some noise and vibration. Redwood tree harvesting for re-purposing will begin on Friday 9/30. Trees to be harvested are located along Quarry Road at the Falk parking lot and at the corner of Welch and Quarry (near 701 Welch). The transport of trees from the Make Ready site to the Hoover tree storage yard is scheduled to begin tonight at 7 pm.
Preparatory utility-related work will continue on Quarry Rd in the evenings. Traffic control measures will be in place. Please be cautious of trench plates in road. Access to the Emergency Room will be maintained at all times. Abatement work of 703 Welch will continue on Saturday 10/1.
Weekday work (10/3-10/7): 7 am-4 pm
Abatement will continue at 703 and 701 Welch in preparation for building demolition next month. Construction of a new sidewalk on the east side of the Falk building is complete. As noticed, the Falk Lot bicycle racks and lockers will be relocated on the property on Monday 10/3. The lockers will be out of service for the day but will be back in operation on 10/4. All bikes must be removed from the lockers prior to 10/3.
The new sidewalk along the north and east side of Packard Hospital, near the Bass Center, will open on 10/3. The new sidewalk provides egress from the second floor of Packard Children's for the CVICU.
Work will continue to relocate the chilled water line adjacent to 703 Welch and Packard Children's Hospital. This work includes some excavation work to install new water lines and may include noise-producing activities.
Night work (10/3-10/7): 8 pm-5 am
Electrical work is scheduled to continue on Quarry Rd. This work includes digging a trench across Quarry Rd during night shifts only. Preparatory utility-related work will continue on Quarry Rd. Traffic control measures will be in place. Please be cautious of trench plates in the road. Access to the Emergency Room will be maintained at all times. Some tree relocation work is scheduled to occur on the Make Ready site next week in the evening hours. This work may cause some noise and vibration

What to expect next weekend (10/7-10/9)
Abatement work will continue at 703 and 701 Welch Rd in anticipation of beginning demolition of 703 Welch on 10/10.
