Work is under way to construct the new Stanford Hospital facility in order to accommodate advances in medical technology, increase capacity, and meet new seismic safety standards. The 824,000 square foot hospital includes 368 individual patient rooms, state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment rooms, an expanded Emergency Department, new employee parking structure, five gardens, walking trails and a meditation room. The new hospital is expected to be completed in 2017 and open for patient care in early 2018.

What to expect this weekend (9/7-9/8)
Hours of Construction Activity: 7 am- 6 pm
New Hospital and Parking Garage:
Shoring work will continue on the New Stanford Hospital construction site.
Off Site Activities:
Soil will be off hauled from the site on Saturday, 9/7.
Weekday work (9/9-9/13)
Hours of Construction Activity: 7 am - 6 pm;
night work from 6 pm-6 am near the former Garden entrance to Stanford Hospital & Clinics on 9/9 and 9/10
Former Garden Entry/D Pod:
Next week, night work will occur near the former Garden entrance of the hospital (near the cafeteria) on Monday, 9/9, and Tuesday, 9/10 to relocate the entry door. No significant noise/vibration issues are expected. Day work on the entry door relocation will continue through 9/14.
Utility work and tunnel pile installation will also continue next week.
New Hospital and Parking Garage:
Shoring and mass excavation work will continue. Foundation work will continue with test pile drilling.
Off Site Activities:
Deliveries will continue to the NSH team offices on Welch Road near Sand Hill Road. Dirt off haul from the NSH site will continue one day next week. Please be cautious of trucks entering and exiting the road.

Hours of Construction Activity: 7 am - 6 pm
Former Garden Entry/D Pod:
Work to relocate the doors near the cafeteria in the former Garden Entrance of the hospital will continue during the day on Saturday, 9/14.
New Hospital and Parking Garage:
Shoring work will continue on the site.
Off Site Activities:
Soil will be off hauled from the site on Saturday, 9/14.
