The Packard Children's Hospital expansion site prep (known as the 'Make-Ready' site) includes the demolition of 701 & 703 Welch and the construction of a shoring wall and utility tunnel in preparation for the Packard Children's expansion.
This week's activities:
Weekend work (9/9-9/11): day shift: 7 am- 4 pm; night work: 8 pm-5 am
Preparatory utility-related work will continue on Quarry Rd in the evenings. Traffic control measures will be in place. Please be cautious of trench plates in road. Access to the Emergency Room will be maintained at all times.
Weekday work (9/12-9/16): 7 am-4 pm
Permits pending, abatement preparation, including the covering of windows and the arcade, will occur at 703 Welch Rd. Preparatory work will occur to build a new sidewalk in front of the Falk Building. There is no anticipated impact to neighboring buildings during this time. The Falk lot bicycle racks will likely be moved after this sidewalk work is completed which could be as early as 9/21. Signs will be posted prior to the relocation of the Falk bicycle racks and lockers.
Tree preparation, boxing and storage will continue on site along with the relocation of some trees to the Stanford University campus.
Night work (9/12-9/16): 8 pm-5 am
Preparatory utility-related work will continue on Quarry Rd. Traffic control measures will be in place. Please be cautious of trench plates in the road. Access to the Emergency Room will be maintained at all times.
What to expect next weekend (9/16-9/18)
Pending permits, abatement will occur at 703 Welch in addition to abatement prep work at 701 Welch.
Some tree relocation work is scheduled to occur on the Make Ready site; preparatory utility-related work will occur on Quarry Rd in the evenings. Traffic control measures will be in place. Please be cautious of steel plates in road. Access to the Emergency Room will be maintained at all times.
