Vacation Bible School!
I WONDER
A 4-Day Series for VBS about Spiritual Habits
June 21 – 25, 2021
~ Preschool - Adult ~

Kids are naturally curious, and when you’re curious about who God is it’s easy to grow your relationship with Jesus. That’s why, in this 4-part series for Vacation Bible School, we’re going to engage kids’ imaginations! Kids will not only get curious about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — but also about the God who created it all!

1. The VBS program 2021 will consist of: Recorded videos - to watch ANYTIME at your convenience

2. A supply bag for all "science experiements"
related to the program

All registered families will get the program links
and the supply bags!

They’ll hear from early church leaders like Paul, Peter, John, and Timothy, who helped the first Jesus-followers wonder
What made their stories unique,
What gifts God gave them (and how they could use those gifts to serve),
What they could learn from others, and
How they could spend time with God.

On June 15th - Supply bags with ALL materials needed are located at the back door of the church for you to pick up at your convenience!

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me" ~ Matthew 25:35-36

To be the church of Jesus in this time and place means listening and learning, changing, and growing. It requires us to get outside the walls of the church building and engage in mutual conversations with our neighbors. In the public square, we learn about ourselves, our world, and our God.

Jesus calls us to join in the spiritual practice of boundary-crossing. With a focus on housing, race, and care of creation we dig deeper into how we are neighbors with each other and our surrounding community both local and global. So let us together become something new, holy, and healing.

These opportunities are for families (children with their special adult),
youth and adults.

SACRED SITES TOUR
Saturday, August 21st - 9:00 am - 2:30 pm
Our tour will be led by Rev. Jim Bear Jacobs (Mohican) and Bob Klanderud (Dakota). This tour offers an opportunity to learn about Minnesota history from a Native perspective through story-telling and experiencing the sites in silence / meditation / reflection.

This is an effort to create understanding and healing between Native American and non-Native people. Native people have suffered deep trauma over many years, losing their land, language, and culture, and all who call Minnesota home are the lesser for it. While many people and institutions contributed to that trauma, it happened with the full participation of Christian churches. We all still need healing, healing is doable, and churches have a role to play in healing.

We believe in the power of healing stories. Stories heal because they make invisible pain visible. The listener and storyteller are both healed by their acts. Advent can play a key role in promoting and experiencing healing by opening ourselves to our own history and listening to the stories of Native people. Through the sharing and retelling of old traumatic stories, we can create new positive ones.

We will meet at church and carpool for this event!
