Our KND Team spent a few days this April at High Point Market in North Carolina, the design industry's equivalent of Fashion Week. It is where the latest styles, innovations, and ideas make their debut and this year did not disappoint!
One thing was clear: individuality is in. Cookie-cutter design is out. We saw spaces filled with personality, creativity, and unexpected combinations. Whimsical and wonderfully weird pieces shared the spotlight with timeless antiques. Modern furnishings were paired effortlessly with vintage finds, creating rooms that felt collected, personal, and full of character.
The craftsmanship was simply next level. Chairs looked more like works of art than furniture, showcasing beautiful details, sculptural forms, and handcrafted elements that deserve to be admired from every angle.
Perhaps my favorite trend of all: Romance is making a comeback in a big way. Pleated details, florals, decorative trims, scalloped edges, and softer silhouettes added charm and elegance to many of the collections we explored.
Color was impossible to ignore. Rich cherry reds, warm canyon tones, and vibrant jewel colors appeared everywhere, bringing energy, depth, and personality into interiors.
Entertainment spaces are evolving too. Game tables were a major trend, and not just traditional pool tables. Mahjong, poker, ping pong, chess, and multipurpose gaming spaces are becoming an integral part of how families gather, connect, and have fun at home.
Outdoor living continues to expand beyond the patio. We saw beautiful outdoor spaces designed to feel like true extensions of the home comfortable, stylish, and inviting enough to make you want to stay outside all day.
The mix of natural materials, stone, wood, rattan, and woven textures were layered throughout showrooms, celebrating the beauty of organic materials and the richness that comes from mixing textures, grains, and finishes.
If High Point Market is any indication, the future of design is personal, expressive, and anything but ordinary. I can't wait to incorporate these inspirations into the homes we create for our clients.
