UNDERSTANDING THE TIMES

In 1 Chronicles 12 we are shown who the mighty men that served under David were. In verse 32 there is an interesting statement. It says, “And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; ….”

As I read that scripture the Lord spoke to my heart and said, “We are living in the season that we need those that were like Issachar and will have an understanding of the times, and what to do.”

It is obvious with so much happening in the political realm, the social realm, the financial realm, the church realm, and the family realm, that we need the gift that Issachar and his children had. We need to be able to understand the times we are living in and hear from God as to our purpose and our assignments.

The body of Christ is not just the leadership and a flock of sheep that follow. We are part of Jesus’ body! He is the head, but each of us is a unique part of Him. As we spend time with Him and study his word, he reveals his mysteries to us and shows us the plans for each day. He helps us understand the times we are in.

I see that the season we are in is perilous as it says in 2 Timothy 3:1. It says, “this know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”  

Perilous means this: loss of strength; dangerous, furious, fierce. We can be certain that those things are happening right now and should not be surprised. We are living in the last of the last days. How do I know this? Because God said that men like Issachar were needed to have an understanding of the times we are in. If you do not have that understanding, then you must ask God to give you that understanding.

God does not want us in the “dark” about what is going on. I see much more destruction coming, both in the spiritual realm natural realm with severe storms, and earthquakes, and volcanic explosions. There is feminine coming! There is persecution coming like we have never seen before.  

Do not put your trust in any man, political party, or anything else other than God. Only God will give you the ability to understand the times, and help you be ready for what is coming!
