THE ENEMY’S BATTLE PLAN
If I were to ask you if you have been going through a trial, most of you would say, “Yes, How did you know?” That sounds so familiar, doesn’t it? There is one thing about being a Christian, if you aren't doing something right you wouldn’t be attacked. Then, of course, if you are committing sin, you open the door for attacks also.
Satan doesn’t usually bother the ones that are already his. After you receive the Lord into your life, According to John 10:10 which says, [quoting Jesus] “The thief cometh not, but for to steal and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Satan assaults you by stealing, killing and destroying everything he can in your life. He is the thief. He may use people, but he is behind those things.
James 1:2 tells us that we are to count it all joy when we fall into diverse temptations. Joy? Hardly. We fight and squirm when things don’t go our way and try to escape. Most of us would have to admit that we do not count it all joy.
But, my friends, the joy of the Lord is our strength. He wouldn’t tell us to wear armor if there wasn’t going to be a battle. Most of our battles originate with thoughts that transfer into words. Words spoken can bring life or death, that is why we must be careful what we say about others and what we listen to when spoken to. Have your words brought life to someone this week, or have they brought death?
We should always be building each other up, rather than pulling them down. Maybe we should do like Psalms 39:1 says and put a bridle in our mouths. Perhaps that is the only way we can learn to be careful with our words.
If you have hurt someone with words, go to them and repent. If they have hurt you with words, then forgive them. Most of the trials of life can be avoided by this. Life is too short to be offended and angry. If we choose to bless them that curse us and pray for them that despitefully use us what a different world it would be!
