We pray that this newsletter and its contents that we share will help you on your daily journey with Christ, causing you to grow in the ways of the Lord.

The giftings of the fivefold ministry (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher) should have one purpose, and that is the teaching and equipping of the saints until we come into unity.

This is why we teach so that you can grow stronger in your faith until unity comes in the body of Christ. Take what you have learned and share it with others so that we can further the kingdom for Jesus Christ.

THE WATER OF THE WORD

In Ephesians 5 we learn that Jesus loved the church so much that he gave himself for it. Verse 26-27 says, “26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of the water by the word, 27 that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

The word of God brings us revelation by the Holy Spirit. This in turn shows us what is right and wrong, or to put it plainly, it shows us what is sinful. The word, compared to water, poured on our sinful lives, loosens sin’s grasp on us. Then we have the choice to let God remove that sin through repentance, or we ignore the word and let sin stay in our lives.

When we let it stay, our hearts become hard. You can compare it to hard dirt that needs to be broken up, crushed, and prepared for the seed that is planted. This prepared ground is called fallow ground. It is intentionally left unseeded to allow it to recover its fertility and moisture.

The more time spent in the word of God, the readier our hearts are for the word, or seed to take root. Without the water of the word, we cannot receive the seed, and our hearts stay hardened.

Even those that have been walking with the Lord for a long time need to spend time in the word, letting that water permeate them with refreshing so one can be ready for the enemy’s plans to destroy what one has learned. As I said, the word washes us, refreshes us, and there is always a new revelation [seed] to be learned.

One should never neglect time in the word. There are many distractions to keep you away, and if you are not careful, you will become dry. Let the water of the word cleanse you daily, and you will never become hardened regarding spiritual things.
