When life Gets turned Upside

We live in a day of unprecedented fear and anxiety, with daily revelations of our vulnerability and mortality. Without minimizing the severity of our circumstances, we have not been left alone or without a source of hope and help...

The text worth noting Daniel 1

When life gets ever so complicated and hard, we can still trust in a sovereign God, The God of heaven who provides us with clarity for our next steps and the truest while admittedly not the easiest path toward a “sweet spot” in his will.

BACKGROUND

Daniel and other very well prepared and wise young JEWISH men had been spirited away from their homes and off to Babylon where they would serve the regime of King Nebuchadnezzar. In an effort to remove any traces of their spiritual upbringing their names were changed and they entered a rigorous 3 year program for the purpose of serving the pagan government.

THERE FIRST IS THE TRUTH OF GOD

Notice, first that Daniel and his friends were very much aware of the law of God regarding their behavior as God-fearing Jews and the the laws concerning their diet.

Daniel first consecrated his heart/ mind that he would remain faithful to God.

THEN NOTICE HIS TRUST IN GOD

Having set his mind toward the right thinking, he now wisely seeks to work within the system to fulfill his godly obligations but also “guarantee” that his course will satisfy the requirements of his captors. It is nothing less than simple trust and godly courage that leads a person to place his life and the life of others into the hands, first of a caring God and secondly into those who hold the keys to his destiny.

AND FINALLY, THE HOLY (WHOLLY)SIMPLISTIC LIFE YIELDS A TRIUMPH.

When it is all said and done, the victory belongs to God. Daniel is more fit, more prepared, wiser, and the most competent of servants the king could ever have. He enjoys longevity and builds relationships that last through several administrations. To put it another way, he has initiated a legacy of godliness that will reflect that nothing negative is ever said of Daniel. Quite a remarkable accomplishment I would say.

His people have not acted presumptuously or arrogantly but boldly and maintaining a few necessary principle.

  1. When calamity strikes— listen for God
  2. When opportunity comes, trust God for the way of escape. Often this is disguised as a difficult but doable path
  3. When the moment of truth arrives, take up your course in faith. God will be glorified.

WHATS LEFT FOR YOU?

Pray not for a life of ease... Pray often and fervently for a life of simplicity— A simple trust in the Son of God, who has promised 𝒏𝒆𝒕 to leave us or forsake us..

Live on!
