Roger Li, MD
Dr. Roger Li is a urologic oncologist whose practice focuses on the treatment of bladder, upper tract urothelial and prostate cancers. Dr. Li’s research interest includes the molecular characterization of urothelial malignancies as well as developing novel immunotherapeutic strategies. Dr. Li’s work has been instrumental in the development of clinical trials in the BCG-unresponsive space. His research is funded by the DoD, ACS, and BCAN. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts and serves as reviewer for many international urologic journals.

Anne K. Schuckman, MD, FACS
Dr. Anne Schuckman graduated from Stanford University and USC/Keck School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at LAC+USC Medical Center and her fellowship in Urologic Oncology (SUO) under Dr. Donald Skinner at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Schuckman’s areas of expertise include muscle invasive and non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, testicular cancer, penile cancer and urinary reconstruction. She performs both open and minimally invasive procedures, and has significant experience in complex abdominal, pelvic, and retroperitoneal surgery. She is particularly passionate about urinary diversion and female organ sparing procedures for bladder cancer. She has contributed to and is currently participating in multiple studies on bladder cancer detection and treatment, as well as treatment of penile cancer.
Dr. Schuckman is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Evidence Based Medicine Committee and has served the Society of Urologic Oncology on the Education and Fellowship committees, as well as on the Clinical Trials Consortium. She is part of the team currently revising the AUA guidelines in muscle invasive and non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.

Pedro Barata, MD, MSc
Dr. Pedro C. Barata, MD MSc FACP is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Case Western University. He serves as the co-leader of the Genitourinary Disease Team and the Director of Clinical Genitourinary Medical Oncology Research Program at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Barata is a medical oncologist and a clinical trialist and his research interests include molecular profiling of tumors and genomic-based therapies for genitourinary tumors.

Jim Hu, MD, MPH
Dr. Jim Hu is a distinguished urologic oncologist known for his expertise in robotic and minimally invasive surgery. With degrees in Economics, Public Health, and Medicine from prestigious institutions like Johns Hopkins University and Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Hu has excelled in his field. His career highlights include leadership roles at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, and UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine. Currently, he directs the LeFrak Center for Robotic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, holding key positions in clinical research and patient safety. Internationally renowned as a surgical innovator and health services researcher, Dr. Hu has secured over $12 million in research funding and authored 300+ peer-reviewed papers. He is principal investigator on several groundbreaking clinical trials exploring novel approaches to prostate cancer treatment. Dr. Hu's surgical skills have earned praise from patients, exemplified by testimonials lauding his compassion, communication, and exceptional outcomes. Widely recognized, he has contributed to major news outlets and medical journals, solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in urologic oncology.

Cheryl Lee, MD
Dr. Lee is Professor and Chair of the Department of Urology at The Ohio State University where she holds the Dorothy M. Davis Endowed Chair in Cancer Research. She is also the Vice President of the OSU Physicians and Faculty Group Practice and the Immediate Past Chief Health Equity Officer for the OSU Wexner Medical Center. She currently serves on the Cancer Program Executive Council within the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center and has worked to increase patient access to cancer clinical trials. She currently co-leads an NCI supported study to develop evidence-based strategies to reduce system barriers to clinical trial accrual.
Her medical professional focus is dedicated to improving the care of bladder cancer patients and she has advanced the field through advocacy, education, and research.
Dr. Lee is currently a Trustee of the American Board of Urology and a member of both the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons and the Clinical Society of Genitourinary Surgeons. She is a recipient of a 2022 SUO Distinguished Service Award, a 2023 AUA Distinguished Service Award, and the 2023 Valentine Medal.

Andrea B. Apolo, MD
Andrea B. Apolo, MD is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in bladder cancer research. She graduated summa cum laude from Lehman College, City University of New York, with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and biochemistry. She earned her medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. She completed a residency in internal medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and completed a medical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, also in New York City. In 2010 she was recruited to the National Cancer Institute’s Physician-Scientist Early Investigator Program to build a translational bladder cancer program. In 2014 Dr. Apolo received the Lasker Clinical Research Scholars Award and in 2021 was granted tenure at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Apolo serves within the Center for Cancer Research of the National Cancer Institute as Head of the Bladder Cancer Section of the Genitourinary Malignancies Branch and Director of the Bladder Cancer and Genitourinary Tumors Multidisciplinary Clinic. Dr. Apolo is dedicated to improving the treatment and survival of patients with bladder cancer and other genitourinary tumors. Her research involves developing and designing clinical trials to test novel therapies for bladder, kidney, and rare genitourinary cancers. She has been instrumental in the clinical development of multiple immunotherapeutic agents and combinations, from first-in-human studies through phase 3 clinical trials. She led the bladder cancer study of avelumab that resulted in FDA approval in advanced bladder cancer and the phase 1 study of the combination of cabozantinib and nivolumab that led to a phase 3 and the FDA approval of this combination in kidney cancer.
