HIPPOCRATES AND HOSPITALS ON DIVERT

A lot of you used Hippocrates to get your hospital divert status.
You will recall per the Department and what we also sent that Hippocrates was discontinued the end of 2020, you should have signed up and be using its replacement.

NoviSurvey is the replacement you use to report incidents, it will not give you divert information.

In any case, per the Department, you do not need to use Hippocrates for this, follow the instruction below from the Deputy Commissioner:

Q: We have used Hippocrates, as per the executive order to determine if our hospitals are on divert. As of today, Hippocrates is off line. How can we determine diversion status?

A: this requirement can be fulfilled by calling the hospital. the idea behind the requirement was for the ASCs to form relationships with the hospitals so they are aware of any issues. not just Hippocrates. thanks

REPLACEMENT OF HIPPOCRATES
Lots of calls and e-mails today about Hippocrates not being accessible. It is not, it is discontinued!

Here is what was sent out weeks ago to ASC Administrators as regards Hippocrates and its replacement directly to you by the Department and then also by NJAASC to you.

Dear Ambulatory Care Facility Administrators,

The system (Hippocrates) that the NJ Department of Health (DOH) provides for facilities to submit reportable event information to DOH in accordance with regulation (N.J.A.C. 8:43E-10.11) has reached its end-of-life and is scheduled to be decommissioned by the end of 2020. In its place, DOH will provide the NoviSurvey platform for submitting reportable events.

The staff who currently send reportable event information to DOH using Hippocrates will receive an invitation via email with directions and a new URL link for them to submit future reportable events through NoviSurvey. Once your staff receive this notification, they will no longer be able to use Hippocrates for this purpose. We will advise them to bookmark the link that will be provided and use it for future submissions of reportable events.

If your facility has never used Hippocrates for reportable events, staff may request a NoviSurvey account by emailing NonLTC.Reportables@doh.ni.gov. In that email, please include your facility name and address, license # and preferably, a single, generic email address that multiple staff who send reportable events can access.

If you have questions about the transition from Hippocrates to NoviSurvey in the coming weeks, please contact our office at NonLTC.Reportables@doh.ni.gov. Thank you.
