Junior Achievement Financial Simulation

After learning about financial literacy concepts such as income, taxes, savings, and budgeting in class, students visit the JA Finance Park® simulation. They work with volunteers to practice what they have learned by making decisions about how to spend and save in 20 areas. By the end of the experience, they will have created and followed a monthly budget and will understand how to reach their financial goals while living within their means.

Student Spotlight: Meet Sofia Rosales, HES Scholar

Submitted by Hardeeville Elementary School, Dr. Latila Slay-King, Third Grade Teacher

Sofia is the epitome of a model student. She values education, respects everyone, and demonstrates kindness and humility every day. Hardeeville Elementary is better because of students like Sofia. She asks thought-provoking questions and has a vivid imagination. Sofia is also a leader in the class; she shows integrity, which is impressive at her age, and embraces academic challenges. Sofia has already exceeded the requirements for promotion and is a High Honor Roll student! She exemplifies our motto at Hardeeville Elementary. She is not only smart, but she also exudes kindness. Sofia truly "IS" the best! She’s already a winner in my book! Thank you for the opportunity!

Community News: Exciting Summer Reading Program - AHJ Regional Library

The AHJ Regional Library is thrilled to announce our upcoming Summer Reading Program, themed COLOR OUR WORLD!

This year’s program is designed to foster reading and learning throughout the summer, helping to prevent the “summer slide”—the loss of academic progress due to reduced reading and educational activities. Children, teens, and adults are all invited to register and participate, earning prizes for reading and attending engaging library events.

Our Summer Reading Program runs from June 1, 2025, to July 31, 2025, with a variety of exciting programs happening across all our library branches.

Attached, you’ll find a brochure detailing all the Pratt Memorial Library and Hardeeville Community Library Program Information along with registration information.
