Reminder to Families

No School for students Tomorrow, Friday, September 30th for Family Connections

National Hispanic Heritage Month is annually celebrated from September 15 to October 15 in the United States for recognizing the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements for the United State

Each week from September 15 to October 15th we will be honoring and celebrating our amazing and talented Hispanic and Latinx/e Student Scholars!

Luna from Ms. Hill's Class is proud to be Hispanic because she loves when her family gets together and celebrates. Luna's father grills lots of great tasting pollo (Chicken).

Miguel from Mr. Homstad's Class is happy to be Hispanic because his mama makes Caldo de Pollo (Chicken soup with chilis) It is so Yummy!

Cindy from Baysinger's Class shared that she is proud to be Hispanic because she gets to speak two different languages. I also get to go to Hispanic Parades that are very fun! Cindy also shared with me that she was able to help a man out at Walmart that needed help because she could speak Spanish. Cindy loves her mama's delicious enchiladas, tacos and churros.

Getsemani from Ms. Baysinger's class is proud to be Hispanic because she can speak two different languages and that means I can help people out that need help because they only speak Spanish. She was happy one day recently when she helped an elderly woman out that only spoke Spanish.

Important Procedures Regarding Student Drop Off & Pick Up

Student Drop Off (7:30 to 7:45) & Pick Up (2:15)

For the safety of students, and the consideration of our neighbors as well as all, please remember to:

  • Know the different zones: DROP OFF, PARKING and NO PARKING.

  • Drop off the student/s ONLY in the DROP OFF ZONE.

  • Have student/s exit from the RIGHT side of vehicle, ready with supplies.
  • If a parent or guardian needs to assist the student/s, go to the END of the drop off zone.

  • Stay with your vehicle.
  • If you need to pick up your student, park in PARKING ZONE and wait along the sidewalk.

  • Move with the flow of the traffic.
  • Don’t TURN AROUND on 41st Street. Instead, consider W 40th Street or W 40th Lane.

  • Pull all the way up BEFORE dropping off or picking up your student.
  • Staff will help students get to and from their vehicles.

Thank you for doing your part in keeping students safe!
