Schoolyard Garden Update
Growing season is here! Students are working hard getting our seedlings, seeds, and plants into the garden beds. Classes learned how to spot monarch eggs and were able to taste the honey berries that have started to ripen. Honey berries taste like tart blueberries if you’re curious!
Next week is our last full week in the garden.
The summer care sign up has been created and if you’re interested in signing up, you are able to do so now. Summer care duties include watering and harvesting. The weeks have been split in half so you may sign up for Sunday-Wednesdays OR Thursday-Saturdays.

Happy planting!

Student Showcase Fair Thank You
A huge thank you to the students and families who dedicated time to plan, prepare, and support students in their showcase displays! Thank you teachers who encouraged and supported students both in the classroom leading up to the night and at the event. It was another year of seeing the creativity, imaginations, and passions of our students come to life!
We SO appreciate the many volunteers who made this night a success!!
-
What a treat to have such a variety of interviewers including: SLP’s new Mayor Nadia Mohamed, parents, staff, many SLP School Board members, and SLP State Representative Kraft!
- Thank you to the many parents who helped with set up, snacks, and clean up!
-
Let’s give an especially BIG thank you to the Student Showcase Fair committee for their hard work and making this wonderful event run so smoothly. Thank you Kathleen Stutzman, Kelsey Rohde, Amy Tollefson, and Tessa Berman!

June Jamboree Volunteer Sign Up
Friday, June 7- all day!
June Jamboree is a fun annual tradition during the last day of school full of activities for kids including field games, dancing, inflatables, and more! Classrooms rotate through activity stations, sign the school banner, pick out a fun flavor of shaved ice, plus enjoy a reptile show! It’s such a great way to enjoy the last day with classmates!
Volunteer Sign Up: Consider signing up for a volunteer shift during our end-of-the-year June Jamboree party at the sign up link HERE. Since this is often a very popular volunteer opportunity, please sign up for just one event so that all families have an opportunity to be part of the day. The schedule of class rotations will also be posted on the PTO website, so that you can try and coordinate your sign up slot with your student's class time. Looking forward to seeing many of you on Friday, June 7th! Hip Hip Hooray!!
Contact the June Jamboree committee with any questions! Emily Kozicki, emkozicki@gmail.com; Andi Kosti, andikostiuk@gmail.com; Beth Hamilton, bethkhamilton@gmail.com; and Kate Petterson, kathryn.petterson@gmail.com

School Supply Kits Flyers
Look for a flyer in your student’s orange folder this week with information about ordering school supply kits.
Take this task off your summer to-do list now without the hassle of school supplies running out! One parent commented in the survey last year “I wish we could order school supply kits through college!” While we can’t help with college textbooks, we can make this season of your life a bit easier for you!
Order now at https://sproutsupplies.com/order with our School Code: SLES001. Order by June 18 deadline and consider paying-it-forward by purchasing an additional kit to donate for a deserving child in your student’s grade. Contact parent volunteer Meredith Richards at meredith.a.richards@gmail.com

Park Public Schools & Community Foundation
Do you know about the Park Public Schools & Community Foundation (PPS&CF)? Every year, the PPS&CF raises funds & makes grants to teachers in preschool through high school for special projects that inspire & enhance our students’ education. In the 2023-2024 school year alone, the Foundation was able to make grants totaling over $58,000! Examples include paying for new play equipment for preschoolers, a potter’s wheel and slab at the Middle School, exciting field trips to bring classroom learning to life, a mobile makerspace, a kindness rocks garden project, innovative instruments combining engineering and music, and cutting edge technology bridging the physical education and science curriculums at the High School. We can’t wait to see what our teachers will do next school year with Foundation grants to make our students’ experiences even better! To learn more about the Foundation and how you can support our schools, please visit Park Public Schools & Community Foundation - St. Louis Park Public Schools Foundation (slppscf.org)
