Women's History Month
An annual declared month that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. It is celebrated during March in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, corresponding with International Women's Day on March 8.
Let's show and teach our learners the amazing work women have led, developed and competed in. These women are our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, neighbors and friends.

|
We could not do the wonderful things we do at our school without all of you and your never-ending support. We are a village and family for all of our 433 learners!
Your Proud Partner in Learning,
Clarence Pollock

Save the New Date! Next PTO Meeting, Wednesday, March 9, 2022, 7:00-8:15 p.m., over Zoom
Don’t miss our next PTO meeting where we will welcome St. Louis Park Mayor Jake Spano who will discuss the history of racial covenants (discriminatory restrictions) embedded in house deeds in St. Louis Park. He will also talk about the city’s partnership with Just Deeds, [link to: https://justdeeds.org] an organization working to remove racist language from home titles. Did you know many houses near our school have these covenants? This means that historically no one other than a white person could purchase that property.
You can look up your home’s address here [link to: https://justdeeds.org/homeowners-buyers-and-sellers/] to see if you have a racial covenant in your home’s deed. Come learn about this important issue, how it affects generational wealth, and what you can do about it. As always, we will share PTO news, get school updates from Principal Pollock, and have a chance for parents to ask questions. A Zoom link will be shared closer to meeting date.

COVID Tests Available for Students and Staff
|
|
Additional rapid-result COVID antigen tests have been ordered and are now available at sites. Tests can be requested at the front office of a student’s school or staff’s primary work location. The newest test that has become available is the BD Veritor nasal swab test. One test kit (containing two tests) may be requested at a time. BD Veritor tests are app enabled and require a smartphone and internet connection. An alternative test option will be supplied to families that do not have access to a smartphone and internet connection.
Students that are not enrolled in St. Louis Park Public schools such as siblings, relatives, children of staff, will need to request a test from their school/school district or leverage other testing resources. Relatives of staff will also need to leverage local testing resources. More information on community testing options are listed below. Please contact Flower Krutina, krutina.flower@slpschools.org, with questions.
What is the BD Veritor antigen rapid test?
The BD Veritor nasal swab at-home test is a rapid antigen test that can be used by anyone over the age of two. Each kit includes two tests per box. In order to take the test, you are required to download the Scanwell Health App on an iPhone, Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel smartphone. The app will guide you through the testing process and will take about 20 minutes to complete.

Cold Weather ~ Outdoor Clothing Reminder
|
|
Please remember students go outside for recess every day! Make sure they have outdoor clothing. Label all clothing.
Students will always go outside unless the regular temperature is below 0 degrees or the windchill temperature is -10 degrees or below. We will watch the temperature to keep our students safe.
We are always in need of gently used or new winter gear, especially waterproof mittens/gloves.
