Erin Sandow grew up in Green Bay, Virginia and graduated from Randolph-Henry High School.  She earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences in General Studies from Southside Virginia Community College.
Erin transferred to Longwood University and completed a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and a master's degree in Community and College Counseling.

Having a passion for substance abuse education and prevention, as well as suicide prevention, she is currently a Prevention Specialist for Crossroads Community Services Board.  Erin also has an interest in event planning and intends to build on her skills in that field by helping to plan events such as The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) Out of the Darkness Walks. According to its website, the AFSP"is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide."

Erin says,"SVCC is a great place to start your college career and get the basic college courses you need to succeed while at a four-year college.  The professors were always nice and gave you extra help when needed.  The two years I spent at SVCC allowed me to save enough money in tuition cost to attend graduate school without taking out a tremendous amount in student loans.  I would recommend it to anyone!"
