We hope that this email finds you and your family healthy and happy. As we look forward to a new year, there are a few things we wanted to share:

Special Holiday Hours
All library services will be closed December 24, 25, 27, 31, and January 1, 3. On other days, you can pick up library materials by booking an appointment.

Picking Up Holds by Appointment Only
Beginning Saturday, December 26, picking up library materials can be done ONLY by appointment. When you receive the notification that your holds are ready, simply go online and let us know when you’ll be coming. We’ll check out your items to you and place them outside the Library front door at your appointment time. Appointment-only service allows us to continue to provide materials to you in the most contactless manner possible, ensuring the safety of staff and patrons alike.

Returns
Most library materials may be returned 24 hours a day/7 days per week using the automated return machines. For Link+ items, return them using the book drop located to the left of the automated return machines. No electronic devices (laptops, hotspots, launchpads) are due during the holiday period.

After January 4, electronic devices, energy toolkits, and Storytime-to-Go kits can be returned at the Library front door anytime 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Thank You and Looking Ahead
While it’s not possible to reopen the Library building currently, we are already working behind the scenes to reopen the building safely. Our current plan is to stay with appointments-only service until Santa Clara County has reached the Orange Tier level as defined in California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy, and then transition to opening up the building in limited capacities.

We know this has been a challenging time for everyone. From our “family of Library staff” to yours, we want to thank you for being a part of the Library community. Please take care of yourself and others.
