Lot's happening in the Club! Hopefully you all received your PCA 70th Anniversary sticker in last month's Panorama. To celebrate this milestone, all regions nationwide will be coordinating events on September 13th. Here is a great video you might want to check out: Celebrating PCA's 70th Anniversary
Here in SVR, we have had a change on our board. After many years of service to the club, Mardi Quain stepped down as our Social Director due to personal reasons. Please join me in appreciating all of the valuable contributions she has made over the years. Alex Matsis has agreed to step into the role. Welecome Alex!
Of course, as Alex moves into the Social Director role, this leaves a vacancy in the Historian. If you are interested in taking this on, please reach out!

Students and Instructors,
I hope that all the students attending this year's SVR Autocross School enjoyed their experience and hopefully learned something about car control and some performance driving techniques.
I would also like to extend a big thank you to all the instructors who made the time to drive up to Thunderhill to help instruct.
Below is the Google Photos link to some of the memories I have captured during the school.
Happy Autocrossing!

SVR Autocross School Class of 2025
By Collin Fat, SVR AX Co-chair

SVR conducted its 17th annual autocross school over two weekends on March 2nd and March 8th with the first event held at Porsche Rocklin and the second event at Thunderhill Raceway. It is hard to imagine that the program has graduated over 500 students since its inception and has an unmatched string of 17 consecutive sell outs. During the two-day event, students learn how to prepare for a typical event, learn about car dynamics related to the physics of car control, the concepts of understeer and oversteer, braking dynamics, and how to approach the proper line.
The school would not be possible without the generous support of our program sponsor, Porsche Rocklin, and we thank them for their generous support. I would also like to thank our cadre of talented instructors who also helped to make this another successful school.
Day one of the school was held in the shop of Porsche Rocklin where SVR AX Chair, Greg Zajic, and team members Matt Deter, Robert Hrabak, and Kent Langendorff spent time telling our eager students all about how to prepare for an event, what autocross is, and covering the basics of car control in an autocross setting. It was amazing to hear some of the many questions fielded by the students concerning their cars performance potential and the fact that their Porsches are more capable than their skills.
| | All the students enjoyed the experience of doing a 90-foot skid pad, the slalom, the braking exercise, and the figure 8 exercise the most just judging from their concentration while on course and the smiles on their faces when they properly executed each drill. | | The finale of the school on Day 2 was held in the afternoon when the students participated in a full and timed autocross following a short lunch break. Putting together remnants of the morning drills into a full course put all their newly learned skills to the test and all passed with flying colors. Please welcome the class of 2025: | |
