Bob Curzon - Webmaster
I grew up in Los Angeles with a lifelong passion for cars and motorcycles, driving everything from a ’71 Jeep CJ7 to my current daily, a ’22 Chevy Bolt EUV. For 25 years, my late wife Dianne and I were deeply involved in motorcycling, helping found the "American Thunder" club with over 300 members.
After Dianne passed in August 2024, I joined the California Automobile Museum docent class of ’25 to get back out into the community. There, I met Dan Richards, builder of a striking copper 914. I mentioned I was eyeing a Miata, but Dan insisted: "NO! Think Boxster!" I listened—taking home an ’01 Boxster S (Tiptronic), followed by an ’07 Cayman 6-speed manual that December.
My garage also includes a ’68 Datsun 2000 Roadster. While visiting the Goodwood Revival in England recently, I couldn't resist adding a right-hand drive ’72 Datsun 240Z UK-spec to the stable, which is currently on its way to Port Hueneme.
Professionally, I spent my career in IT and programming, retiring in 2014 (though I'm also ordained and have officiated over 30 weddings!). I bring a solid background in website management to SVR and look forward to keeping everyone connected and informed.
See you on a tour!

President's Message
John Leet
As we head into the holiday season, it is time to start looking toward 2027. For SVR, this starts with our Annual Planning Meeting on Sunday November 15th from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. We scheduled this on Sunday in the hopes that it would be more accomodating to work schedules. If you have never been to a planning meeting, please consider attending to share your ideas for what you would like to see with SVR in 2027. If you are a seasoned participant, please note the new location!
Later in November we have the Christmas Tree Decorating event at the California Auto Museum on the 29th followed by our Christmas Party and awards presentation on December 6th. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the SVR membership, the club is on solid financial footing and will subsidize the cost of the Christmas Party.
Finally, we have amazing candidates for the SVR Board. Please VOTE to show your support!

From the VP & Tour Chair
Rick Duste
Our annual membership/planning meeting is coming up shortly. As of this writing, there are only a few remaining spaces. We moved it to the Maidu Community Center in Roseville to be more centrally located for the membership. Fire Marshall capacity limits for the meeting room limit the number of attendees so you must sign up if you plan to attend this free event. RSVP at: https://msreg.com/26SVRMeeting
Our final tour of the year featured over 70 cars. We experimented with having three groups; Spirited, Not So Spirited, and Casual spread across seven run groups. Availability of volunteer leads will be a big part of whether we continue with that strategy. With Ride-With-GPS voice commands over your phone and the Leads doing a group pre-drive of the route beforehand (including a free lunch), it’s not overly difficult. Don’t be bashful.

2027 SVR Board Elections
It's Time to Vote for the Sacramento Valley Region
Board of Directors for 2027-2028 !
| | |
I look forward to filling the role of Club President for the upcoming 2-year term. Prior to moving to Auburn, I was a member of the Redwood Region and held the positions of Secretary and Vice President before the move. I took on the vacant role of Tour Director here in Sacramento in 2022 and have enjoyed organizing tours and some special events over the past four years. I agreed to serve as Vice President in 2024 and now look forward to helping in the role of President. Looking forward, my feeling is the Club needs to focus on driving and social events and activities for its members, striving for quality over quantity, and while expanding our offering, being careful not to spread ourselves too thin to the detriment of our core activities. We have a strong slate of candidates for the upcoming Board term, and I look forward to working with them. The real work is done at the Committee Chair level for which we have some very talented and hard-working folks. We can always use more so I welcome additional volunteers that can help at whatever level you are comfortable with.
| | Steve Long for Vice President | | |
Hello Sacramento Valley Region of the PCA. I’ve been proud to support our volunteer driven club for the past five years as Membership Director. In my tenure we have grown by hundreds of new members and activity participation sells out most of our events. I wish I could take credit for this, but our leadership team is strong and cohesive. This should be continued.
I can take humble credit for organizing and managing effective Membership processes. On-boarding new and transferring-in members is vital to their enjoyment and subsequent retention in our club.
I am also often tasked with special projects and support of other leaders’ efforts. I happily assist and believe my efforts make positive impacts.
As I term-out of the Membership Director role, I request your support to continue and increase my involvement in the role of Vice President. My hope is that you would also support Rick Duste as our new club President.
I hope to learn from the amazing strides Rick has made and continue to offer compelling events and leadership so you can get what you want out of YOUR club.
Please consider me when casting your vote.
Best wishes!
Steve Long
| Tina Talamantes for Secretary | |
My name is Tina Talamantes, and I have been a member of the PCA since 2007. I am currently the Secretary for the Sacramento Valley Region PCA. In this role, I have learned a lot about the workings of the Club and think the perspectives I offer and my previous experience serving on the Board of other non-profit organizations is an asset to the Club. Over the years, I have thoroughly enjoyed participating in a variety of local and regional events, including new member tours, Autocross, Rally TSD, Porsche and Pints, and Junior events.
I am deeply passionate about serving the community, a commitment that spans more than two decades. My 28-year career in law enforcement, along with extensive volunteer work in the arts, medical, and education sectors, reflects this dedication. I look forward to continuing to serve as your SVR club Secretary for the next two years.
| Michael Born for Treasurer | |
I’m honored to run for re‑election as Treasurer for the Sacramento Valley Region of PCA. I’ve been part of this amazing club for nearly six years, and since taking on the treasurer role in 2024, I’ve worked to support our events, strengthen our operations, and help keep SVR running smoothly.
What keeps me energized is the camaraderie in this club—the friendships, the shared passion, and the fun we have together. I especially enjoy our tours and autocross events, where the community really comes alive. My wife and I have two Porsches: a Macan that handles family road trips and everyday utility, and a 911 that brings pure joy on spirited drives.
I would appreciate your support as I continue serving SVR and contributing to the club that has given me so much.
| Abe Kazimierek for Membership Director | |
For the past two years I have been serving as the Charity Chair for SVR and have also taken on the Advertising Chair responsibility this past year. It gives me great pleasure to volunteer for the club and the opportunity to work with and meet many amazing members, many that I now consider friends. The charity golf tournament that I launched last year provided the club the opportunity to award scholarships and tool awards to several local college students enrolled in automotive technology programs. We have our second charity golf tournament planned for next month and am excited to continue to provide scholarships and tool awards to more students in 2027.
For 2027, I would like to ask for your support as the Membership director. My goals for this role are to grow our club membership, drive member engagement, and ensure that our members voices are heard as we create tours, events and other club activities. I look forward to fulfilling this role should I be selected.
Thank you,
Abe Kazimierek
| Angela Bowman for Social Director | |
Hello, Sacramento Valley PCA members!
I’m Angela Bowman, and I’m excited to be a candidate for Social Director. Although I’m a newer Porsche owner, my love for the brand began at age 16 when I learned to drive a manual in my mom’s Porsche 944. Today, I proudly own a 2013 Boxster S and have truly enjoyed becoming part of the Sacramento Valley PCA community.
If elected, my goal is to help create welcoming, enjoyable opportunities for members to connect and build friendships. I believe one of the greatest strengths of our club is the people, and I’d be honored to help foster an inclusive, engaging, and fun environment for both new and longtime members.
Thank you for your consideration. I would appreciate your vote!
Angela Bowman

Presented By: Brian Adkins, Zone 7 Representative
Hello Zone 7!
November in Northern California and Nevada. Aren't we fortunate?
While Porsche owners in many parts of the country are preparing to tuck their cars away for the winter, we're still checking the weather forecast, looking for a favorite stretch of road, and making plans for another weekend behind the wheel. Sure, the mornings might be a little cooler, and we may need to dodge an occasional rainstorm, but we still have some wonderful driving days ahead of us...
| | See All PCA Events, Local and National | | The West Coast Series is a PCA club racing points competition comprised of the all the PCA club races that occur on the West Coast of the USA. Historically, club racing in the PCA has been most popular in the East Coast and Midwest. This series was created in 2014 to encourage West Coast club members to take up club racing by providing them with the increased competition and sense of camaraderie that comes with having one’s own competitive series. All PCA club racers are eligible to participate and all entrants to any of the club races tagged as a West Coast event are automatically entered into the series. | | Click button below to access all the Porsche Panoramas | | | | |
