Gates Elementary's very own Alondra Diaz, a 3rd grade Dual Language Immersion teacher, was recognized as the 2020 National Hispanic Business Woman of the Year in the Community Service, Education, and Non-Profit category. On any given day when you walk into her room, you will find thought provoking conversations in English and Spanish and activities that encourage students to challenge themselves. Alondra is a true inspiration. Congratulations!

Congratulations to the MVHS Drama Students for their awards at the California Educational Theatre Association Virtual Theatre Festival held January 16, 2021! Schools from all over the state of California submitted eight minute selections from their fall/winter productions for adjudication by professional judges in acting and tech theatre. School Choice Intra-District Transfer
|
The Secondary (incoming 7-12th grade) School Choice application window is open from January 25, 2021 through February 12, 2021.This process is for SVUSD residents who want to transfer their student in the 2021-2022 school year to another school within SVUSD.

Through a partnership with Saddleback College, the SVUSD Virtual Academy (SVA) is pleased to offer dual enrollment for students to earn a college level certificate in Business or Computer Information Management (Cybersecurity). Cox Charities Scholarship
|
Cox Charities is offering college scholarships to high school seniors in the Orange County and Palos Verdes areas. The Cox Scholars scholarships range from $2,500 to $5,000. Recipients must be a 2021 graduating high school senior living in Cox’s Southern California service area. Applications are now open.
