Reasons to Explore Summer Classes at KSC

  • Flexibility: Our online summer courses often have more flexible schedules. Whether you’re working, traveling, or pursuing other activities, summer courses can be a good fit with your summer plans.
  • Accelerated Learning: Summer courses are often condensed, allowing you to cover a semester’s worth of material in a shorter time. This can be an excellent way to immerse yourself in a subject and gain a deep understanding quickly.
  • Explore Interests: Summer courses often offer unique subjects or electives that aren’t available during the regular academic year. It’s an opportunity to explore a passion or interest that might not fit into your usual schedule.
  • Our Technology Integrated Teaching course will include a module on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The module will explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in educational settings, while critically examining the ethical, practical, and pedagogical challenges it presents. Students will learn about the benefits and limitations of AI in educational contexts, developing skills and strategies to make informed decisions about the safe and appropriate integration of these tools in their own teaching situation.

We'll also be offering a concurrent New Teachers Retreat on July 31st for newly hired teachers with three or less years of teaching experience. The New Teachers Retreat is an annual event where we nurture and develop early-career educators with workshops tailored to their unique needs. With a mix of instructional sessions taught by current and former teachers, we build skills, community, and confidence, so that teachers feel equipped and inspired to stay in the profession long-term. The one-day 2024 New Teachers Retreat will take place concurrently with the Summer Educators Institute. Participants will join the keynote presentation and participate in a full-day retreat for the remainder of the day. We're pleased to offer the New Teachers Retreat at no cost to attendees.
