The SW Center is here to support you in connecting and engaging with your students in the classroom and the school community, and meeting your professional learning needs.

In this season of giving thanks (and always), we're grateful for your commitment and dedication to improving the lives of students and families in your school communities!

Introduction to Teaching Courses will Support SBLPs

Keene State College, in collaboration with the UNH College of Professional Studies and Plymouth State College, is excited to announce the development of an Introduction to Teaching course series to support a range of NH educators, including those working on Site-Based Licensing Plans (SBLPs); teachers new to the profession, teachers working towards licensure; paraprofessionals working towards special education licensure; and any teacher wishing to gain proficiency in foundational teaching knowledge and skills as outlined in the NH Pro-Ed Teaching Standards (ED 505.03). The NH Education Department has reviewed these courses for use in SBLPs to meet the NH Pro-Ed Teaching Standards.

We anticipate rolling out these courses beginning in 2025. We will collaborate with schools/districts wishing to establish a cohort model to meet specific and unique needs. Individual options for educators to take these courses will also be offered. If you are interested in learning more, contact Steve Bigaj (sbigaj@keene.edu) or Beth Buoro (lizabeth.buoro@keene.edu).
