· There are three categories of OVERFLOW PROJECTS:

       1. PHYSICAL PROJECTS—manual labor

       2. RELATIONAL PROJECTS—showing appreciation for others

       3. PRAYER PROJECTS—gathering in groups around our city to pray

· On Sunday, October 9th—

   9 am: All are asked to meet in the gym for breakfast, a time of fellowship and prayer and to begin organizing the project teams.

    10 am: Assemble in the auditorium—dressed to serve with your team—for an abbreviated time of worship, praise and prayer.

    After worship—reconvene in the gym with your project team to collect supplies and coolers with lunches and drinks.

· T-shirts: OVERFLOW t-shirts are available to purchase if you have interest. The cost is $10 and they are the same design as last year.

· After the OVERFLOW project has been completed, please return coolers to the gym.

We are excited the Good News Singers from Harding University will join us for our OverFlow Celebration Potluck on October 16th after worship in the gym. This will be a day of celebrating the lives and hearts that were touched through Jesus in our community by our day of service to our neighbors.  Bring a dish to share; the entree will be provided.

On Sunday, October 23rd, in keeping with our current series—LOVE RIGHT NOW—we will focus our time of worship on missions — both around the corner and around the world. Fielden Allison — who along with his wife Janet, serve in Tanzania and Jeremy Smith—who along with his wife Martha and their family serve in Mozambique—will be speaking during the 10 am worship hour.

Also on that day, there will be a potluck in the gym after worship (11:30 am). BBQ meat will be provided and the church is asked to bring sides and desserts to share. To make sure sufficient meat and supplies are available, all who plan to attend the potluck are asked to sign the sheet posted on the window by the church office entrance. Please indicate how many from your family will be attending and what side or dessert will be brought.

Southwest Church will be hosting a Blood Drive on Friday, October 14th from noon—5 pm. You can sign up for an appointment at redcrossblood.org.

A "Moses Basket" is being assembled for Millie Ruth Spencer and her mother Sandra. Please bring diapers, wipes and gift cards (she does not need clothing). The basket will be by the office door!
