Women's Medical Respite
"Recuperative Care for Unsheltered Women"
|
Greetings,
Women's Medical Respite cares for medically fragile women 24/7. Serving as the Executive Director, with a degree in Behavioral and Community health, I wholeheartedly believe our next step is to be more engaged as a community in helping those who are struggling. My emphasis and heart are in prevention education for the sake of the women we serve.
My hope is to find solutions and prevention methods long before the women arrive in need at our doors.
WMR is partnering with several compassionate public service entities to do just that! Hopefully, the phrase remains true: "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." We would like to include and partner with SWMO faith partners due to their invaluable role and impact on community health in a collaborative effort.
Please join us for our first annual faith partnership event.

Good afternoon,
Domestic violence is a silent epidemic that affects many families in our community, and Greene County often leads the state in reported rates of domestic violence. Domestic Violence is often a precursor to homelessness, trauma, and declining health.
Survivors of domestic violence often first reach out to a trusted faith leader when experiencing abuse, and navigating these situations can often be complex and overwhelming.
To help support our local faith leaders, the Greene County Family Justice Center, Harmony House, Women’s Medical Respite, and the Southwest Missouri Chapter of Missouri Faith Voices are working together to provide training opportunities and additional resources related to domestic and family violence.
This October, please join us as we partner with Called to Peace Ministries to host a free collaborative workshop to help faith leaders recognize and respond to domestic violence in our community, and to begin building partnerships between our local victim services organizations and faith communities. We hope that will you join us for this event at Cox College on Thursday,

Missouri Faith Voices
“Racism, poverty, financial predation and health inequities are co-conspirators in the negative health and the extraction of wealth that exist in too many communities across Missouri, especially in Black communities and other communities of Color.”
Missouri Faith Voices believes a better and different future is possible if people of faith, act courageously together to confront the fraudulent notion of white supremacy and the systemic issues it has produced.
We have a prophetic vision for all of the Creator’s people, a future in which everyone belongs, is ensured that their humanity will be affirmed and protected, their access to democracy will not be impaired and a future in which racial equity is not an aspiration but a reality.
