TENTATIVE AGREEMENT REACHED
ON EVALUATION!

Today the SWTA Bargaining Team met with the SBUSD bargaining team (Janea Marking, Melissa Griffith, Estela Corrales, Jon Pearl,  and Pamela Reichert-Montiel) to continue discussions in regards to evaluations for 2020-2021. After several discussions and a counter from each side an agreement was reached on the following:

  • Unit members with permanent status who have been employed with the district for at least ten years and have been evaluated at least once in the past five years with a rating of satisfactory, effective or innovative will not be evaluated this year.
  • For the 2020-21 school year, all other permanent unit members required to be evaluated pursuant to Ed Code 44664, who are not in the Advisory or Structured Intervention Track, will be evaluated utilizing a two (2) page Reflective Tool.
  • Any unit member currently participating in the Advisory or Structured Intervention Track will continue with set goals and timelines as already established during the 2020-21 school year.
  • All temporary and probationary unit members will be evaluated as outlined in the MOU.

Due to the Thanksgiving Break, the full MOU will be posted when we return from break.

We recommend that all members gather any evaluation documentation they may have in the event of a dispute (although you won’t be able to access records at school over the break).

December 4th is our next scheduled bargaining date.

Sincerely,
Brenda Robles (Bargaining Chair), Alvaro Alvarez, Lorena Garcia, Sara Golden, Norma Sahagun, Melissa Romo and Helen Farias (CTA Staff).
