MARCH 9, 2026

Greetings!.

This newsletter contains reminders of upcoming events and announcements of newly planned SWWAP events. While we watch an illegal war waged in Iran and cruelty mount on our fellow Americans, it is easy to choose to turn off the barrage of bad news. However, we have a duty to country, to resist fascism from within. While enraged we must remain engaged. No one person can change the course of history. But millions of us, with one voice, can speak truth to power and resist tyranny..

➡️ FORWARD TOGETHER!

We preface this SWWAP Newsletter with a portion of a recent eulogy given by Barack Obama given at the memorial for Rev. Jesse Jackson. He lays bare the challenge we are met with. He calls us to duty, "Because if we don't step up, who will". While we listen to the words from an inspiring President, ask how we can step up locally and make a difference.

You can access the full speech honoring Rev. Jesse Jackson HERE.

MH AREA PROGRESSIVE TROLLS

CREATIVE ACTS

IN A TROUBLED TIME

We have found ourselves in the wilderness of war in a country divided. The bombs dropping resonate through the world, and we feel their echo in our hearts. Let us come together and express what is in our hearts. Perhaps it is anxiety or fear. Perhaps it is rage. Perhaps it is despair. Or perhaps the soft light of compassion still glows.

We believe that in expression we can find connection, and in togetherness we can find strength. This evening will include a few planned creative acts, but we also welcome contributions from anyone who feels moved to share a song, poem, story, or other creative expression. (More details to come in next SWWAP Newsletter)

A DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN INSANITY 🤯

Heather Cox Richardson

About a week before Trump launched Operation Epic Fury, attacking Iran alongside Israel, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine warned that the lack of support from allies and depleted reserves of interceptors and Patriot missiles would make an attack on Iran risky.

The Trolls will be getting out the Democratic vote in Mt. Horeb in March and April.

There's Credible Evidence of Trump's Sex Crimes

- Jay Kou, - Status Kou

The evidence, once brought together, tells a compelling, disturbing story. (As with all things Epstein, reader discretion is advised. This piece contains evidence and victim statements involving sexual abuse of children.)

AIN'T GONNA GO AWAY!

IT'S A SIGN!

It's that time of year again, when Spring Election yard signs will be popping up throughout the Driftless Region. Get your Chris Taylor yard sign by reaching out to Carol Larsen. Also, we're looking for a centrally located house with a porch or similar arrangement to be an easy sign pick up point - contact Jennifer Gottwald if you could help with that. Thank you.

From the Minnesota Front Lines

SWWAP is committed to standing with the People of Minnesota until ICE is Out. ON February 12th, Border Czar Tom Homan announced to the world that, “A significant drawdown has already been underway this week and will continue to the next week.”

However the People Over Papers Ice Tracking map consistently shows an average of 20 reported ICE sightings a day. In addition to this raw data, SWWAP’s on-the-ground contact relates that last week there was at least one reported instance of a parent and child being abducted by ICE during school pick-up hours.

ICE is not out of the Twin Cities, yet national news media no longer covers this reality. As a result donations and outside support are dropping. Zion Lutheran Church/Zion Community Commons had to close on Wednesday and Thursday last week because of low funds.

Since Zion feeds an average of 250 families in Saint Paul every day, low funds meant 500 families missed expected grocery deliveries. The money contributed to Zion Lutheran is used to purchase nutritious, fresh food from wholesale distributors. A lot of the food is purchased in bulk and then packed on-site by volunteers. One on-site volunteer described working alongside about 40 other volunteers. Her job was to bag flour and she conveyed that as fast as they could bag the flour it was “flying out” into grocery bags to be delivered to Shelter In Place (Ship) families.

Another on-site volunteer reports that “What's happening at ZCC is akin to a M.A.S.H unit. It's all boots on the ground type of situation. They open their doors and everyone starts rolling. They are so busy they don't answer their phone. Volunteers show up and ask, what do you need? There is a lead person who coordinates the packing for families and directs volunteers to work stations….”

Every dollar you contribute to ZCC helps to feed families who are being forced to shelter in place by the ICE Occupation. Please consider donating, even small amounts make a difference. And either way, please copy/paste and share this information with your own network of friends and family. Not everyone will have the resources to donate every time. But we ALL have the capacity increase donations overall by sharing this information with our own connections. Zion Lutheran’s donation page can be found here.

Help let Minnesota know we hear her voice by acting to support her now, in her time of greatest need.

Thank you from the SWWAP Board.

Thanks to all who have donated in the past,
and those who support us now 💜

Contributions to SWWAP are appreciated but not tax deductible.
