Program Goals

• Introduce and prepare youth for the world of work
• Explore career interests and acquire good work habits and skills
• Provide supplemental income

Program Structure

• Up to 6 weeks of paid work & educational experience
• Starting Wednesday, July 5^th, 2023 - Saturday, August 12^th, 2023
• Paid Weekly
• Youth ages 14-15 will receive a stipend totaling $700
• Youth ages 16-24 will earn a New York State minimum wage of $15 per hour

Who is Eligible?

• Young people aged 14 to 24 by 07/05/2023
• Must be a resident of one of the five NYC boroughs
• Legally allowed to work in the US

• Career Exploration: Flex your research skills and discover new career possibilities.
• Skill-Building Activities: Receive help with your resume, cover letters, and interview skills. Learn essential job readiness skills and workplace etiquette.
• Connections to Professionals: Build your network through mentoring, career panels, social media workshops, and more.
• Community Building: Our democracy needs your voice. Learn valuable skills to become an active citizen at work and in your community.
• Project-Based Learning: NYC Teens ages 14—15 learn about career opportunities and make a difference in their communities through paid project-based activities
• Work Experiences: Young people ages 16–24 improve their work readiness skills and explore career pathways through paid summer jobs in a variety of industries throughout NYC

Application Process & Program Timeline

• Today, February 15th - March 31th: The application is open to the public

• March 2023: Participant Selections & Document Enrollment

• June 2023: Participant Orientation, Workplace Interviews & Selections

• July - August 2023: Paid Activities
