About SYEP:

The NYC Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is the nation's largest youth employment program connecting NYC youth with career exploration opportunities and city-funded employment for up to 6 weeks each summer during July and August.



Program Goals

• Introduce and prepare youth for the world of work
• Explore career interests and acquire good work habits and skills
• Provide supplemental income

Program Structure

• Up to 6 weeks of paid work & educational experience
• Starting Wednesday, July 5^th, 2023 - Saturday, August 12^th, 2023

Who are the interns?

• Young people aged 16 to 24 by 07/05/2023
• Must be a resident of one of the five NYC boroughs

How does our partnership work:

• We provide our partners with participants who work up to 25 hours a week.
• Participants are paid directly by DYCD and will not add any extra cost to your organization’s payroll.
• Partners should immerse participants in their industry sectors while also tapping into new ideas and fresh perspectives from young people.

• May 2023: Application Deadline

• May 31st 2023: Worksite Orientation

• July - August 2023: Paid Activities
